To turn the audio on you can click on the User Options button (highlighted by a red arrow in the following image)

then you have to click on the General tab (indicated by the red arrow in the image below);

then click on the button next to the Audio label (indicated by the blue arrow in the image below);

If the symbol is green (as pictured below) the audio is active, if red it is not.
